CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting Gettysburg College improved to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in Centennial Conference play with a 4-0 win over host Washington College this afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium.
Brigid Behan put the Bullets on the board at 19:56, heading in a corner kick from Becca Kent. Behan then pushed the lead to 2-0 at 25:46 scoring after receiving a header pass from Ashley Miller. The Bullets held a commanding 14-1 advantage in shots in the first half.
Sarah Alesio scored Gettysburg's third goal at 48:26, blasting in a shot from near the top of the box after a short pass behind from Tobi Goss. Tara Crowley accounted for the Bullets' fourth goal at 68:16, finding the back of the net with an intended cross from the far right of the goal.
Gettysburg finished the game with a 16-1 advantage in shots, scoring on both of its second-half goals. The Bullets also recorded all 10 of the game's corner kicks.
Eliza Gray played the first 74:14 in goal for the Bullets and recorded Gettysburg's lone save. Sophomore goalkeeper Rebecca Potochney (Newark, DE/Newark) made five saves in the loss for the Shorewomen.
The Shorewomen (3-4, 1-2) return to action Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. home game against King's.
