#14 Shorewomen Sweep Races Against St. Mary's
CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The 14th-ranked Washington College women's rowing team swept a pair of races against visiting St. Mary's College of Maryland this morning on the Chester River.
The Shorewomen's varsity four won its race in 7:54. St. Mary's "A" boat was second in 8:07, while the Seahawks' "B" boat was third in 8:31. In the varsity eight, the Shorewomen's "A" boat won in 6:51, while their "B" boat was second in 7:21. St. Mary's finished third in 7:47.
Freshman Samantha Mason (Preston, CT/Norwich Free Academy) served as coxswain of the Shorewomen's varsity four. Sophomore Emily Sahadeo (College Park, MD/Elizabeth Seton) sat stroke, freshman Krystal Brostek (Galloway, NJ/Absegami) was in the three seat, freshman Rachel Dilliplane (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) was in the two seat, and freshman Mickey Fili (Sparks, MD/Hereford) was the bow.
Senior Kelsie Jensen (Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) was the coxswain of the Shorewomen's "A" boat in the varsity eight. Freshman Kelly Bird (Galloway, NJ/Absegami) sat stroke, senior Kendall Mulligan (Southbury, CT/Westover School) was in the seven seat, freshman Taira Sullivan (Stevensville, MD/Kent Island) was in the six seat, sophomore Valeria DiLisi (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) sat in the five seat, junior Kate Fiori (Boston, MA/Dana Hall School) was in the four seat, sophomore Elizabeth Hilton (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) sat in the three seat, freshman Ashley Myles (Chester Springs, PA/Owen J. Roberts) was in the two seat, and junior Rachel Benders (Cleveland Heights, OH/Beaumont School) was the bow.
Sophomore Abigail Thomas (Hughesville, MD/Thomas Stone) was the coxswain of the Shorewomen's "B" boat in the varsity eight. Sahadeo sat stroke, Brostek sat in the seven seat, junior Lauren Halla (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial) was in the six seat, Fili was in the five seat, Dilliplane sat in the four seat, sophomore Carly Ogren (Burke, VA/Lake Braddock) was in the three seat, freshman Rocio Valdes (Washington, DC/Edmund Burke School) sat in the two seat, and sophomore Allie Everhart (New Market, MD/Linganore) was the bow.
The Shorewomen return to action tomorrow at the Occoquan Sprints in Lorton, VA.
