Shorewomen Second in Points at MARC's
Second Varsity Eight Wins its Race
YORK COUNTY, PA -- The Washington College women's rowing team finished second of six teams in the overall points standings today at the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Championships in York County, PA.
The second varsity eight won its five-boat race in 7:33.3. Mary Washington was second in 7:41.4, Franklin & Marshall third in 8:04.3, Bryn Mawr fourth in 8:24.4, and North Park fifth in 8:45.0.
The Shorewomen's varsity eight was second in its heat and third in the final. In the heat, WC finished in 7:04.24. Mary Washington was first in 7:00.04, North Park third in 7:12.84, and Richard Stockton fourth in 7:22.24. Mary Washington won the final in 7:13.0 to win the MARC Championship and capture the overall points trophy. Marietta was second in 7:15.1, Bryn Mawr fourth in 7:26.2, North Park fifth in 7:28.3, and Franklin & Marshall sixth in 7:30.3.
Washington's novice finished second in 8:34.7. Marietta won the race in 8:28.6, North Park was third in 8:57.7, Richard Stockton fourth in 9:12.7, and Rutgers-Camden fifth in 9:24.9.
Senior Krista Jensen (Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) was the coxswain of the Shorewomen's second varsity eight. Senior Emily Hofler (Baltimore, MD/Mercy) sat stroke, freshman Kate Fiori (Boston, MA/Dana Hall School) was in the seven seat, sophomore Ellen Liebenow (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge) was in the six seat, sophomore Diane Hagmann (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) sat in the five seat, freshman Lacy Gentry (Mt. Airy, MD/Glenelg) was in the four seat, freshman Mariko Anderson (Seattle, WA/Ingraham) sat in the three seat, freshman Kathryn Cudemo (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown East) was in the two seat, and junior Robin Heese (Baltimore, MD/Maryvale Prep) was the bow.
Sophomore Kelsie Jensen (Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) was the coxswain of the Shorewomen's first varsity eight. Senior Ericka Malow (Brunswick, OH/Brunswick) sat stroke, sophomore Jenna Moore (Catonsville, MD/Mount de Sales) sat in the seven seat, senior Amy Smith (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville) was in the six seat, sophomore Kendall Mulligan (Southbury, CT/Westover School) sat in the five seat, junior Christine Lynch (Lincoln University, PA/Avon Grove) sat in the four seat, junior Catherine Black (Kimberton, PA/Academy of Notre Dame) sat in the three seat, sophomore Sarah Ruh (New Preston, CT/Kent School) was in the two seat, and freshman Rachel Benders (Cleveland Heights, OH/Beaumont School) was the bow.
Freshman Reese Laricks (Newark, DE/Delaware Military Academy) was the coxswain of the Shorewomen's frosh/novice four. Freshman Lauren Halla (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial) sat stroke, freshman Gabby James (Wilmington, DE/Mount Pleasant) was in the three seat, freshman Mariah Perkins (Frederick, MD/Urbana) sat in the two seat, and freshman Erin Franco (Wingdale, NY/Dover Plains) was the bow.
The Shorewomen return to action May 7th and 8th at the Dad Vail regatta in Philadelphia.
