Shorewomen Finish Ahead of 13 Boats
PHILADELPHIA, PA -- The Washington College women's rowing team finished sixth of 19 boats in the open club eight to highlight the team's performance at the Head of the Schuylkill regatta today in Philadelphia, PA. The Shorewomen completed the race in 16:20.1833.
Senior Krista Jensen (Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) was the coxswain of the Shorewomen's boat in the club eight. Senior Ericka Malow (Brunswick, OH/Brunswick) sat stroke, sophomore Sarah Ruh (New Preston, CT/Kent School) was in the seven seat, senior Emily Hofler (Baltimore, MD/Mercy) sat in the six seat, freshman Kate Fiori (Boston, MA/Dana Hall School) was in the five seat, sophomore Kendall Mulligan (Southbury, CT/Westover School) sat in the four seat, senior Sarah Strickland (Potomac, MD/Holton-Arms) was in the three seat, sophomore Diane Hagmann (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) sat in the two seat, and junior Robin Heese (Baltimore, MD/Maryvale Prep) was the bow. Navy won the open club eight in 15:30.6967.
Freshman Vikki Smoter (Laurel, MD/Academy of the Holy Cross) was the coxswain of the Shorewomen's college frosh/novice four, which finished fifth of 11 boats in 20:48.2100. Freshman Kathryn Cudemo (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown East) sat stroke, freshman Emily Robart (Hanover, PA/Hanover) sat in the three seat, freshman Gabby James (Wilmington, DE/Mount Pleasant) was in the two seat, and freshman Sam Davis (Denton, MD/Colonel Richardson) was the bow. Pennsylvania won the college frosh/novice four in 18:35.7033.
Smoter was also the coxswain of the Shorewomen's college frosh/novice eight, which finished 24th of 29 boats in 1937.7100. Freshman Rettie Duke (Elizabeth, CO/Kent Denver) sat stroke, freshman Rachel Benders (Cleveland Heights, OH/Beaumont School) was in the seven seat, freshman Lacy Gentry (Mt. Airy, MD/Glenelg) sat in the six seat, freshman Danielle Burdalski (Pilesgrove, NJ/Woodstown) was in the five seat, sophomore Molly Anderson (Berwyn, PA/Archbishop Carroll) sat in the four seat, freshman Lauren Halla (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial) was in the three seat, freahman Mariko Anderson (Seattle, WA/Ingraham) sat in the two seat, and freshman Zoë Woodbridge (College Park, MD/Fairhaven School) was the bow.
