CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Seniors Madison Acra (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Academy), Autumn Spence (Springfield, Pa./Springfield), and Rachael Shaw (Bechtelsville, Pa./Boyertown) and junior Cecily Docktor (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) have been named captains of the Washington College women's lacrosse team for the 2018 season.
Acra, a midfielder, has played 46 career games for the Shorewomen, including 15 starts. Her career totals include 20 goals, 14 assists, 33 ground balls, 17 draw controls, and 15 caused turnovers. She is a two-time Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll qualifier and also qualified for the 2017 IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll.
Spence, a midfielder and defender, has started all 51 games of her collegiate career. She has career totals of 75 draw controls, 71 ground balls, 27 caused turnovers, two goals, and four assists.
Shaw, a midfielder, has made 33 starts in 38 career games. She has scored 23 career goals and assisted on another. She has also tallied 33 ground balls, 15 draw controls, and 10 caused turnovers in her career.
Docktor, an attacker, has started all 34 of her career games. She has scored 65 goals and assisted on 24 others. She also has 39 career ground balls, nine career draw controls, and 14 career caused turnovers to her credit. She was named a 2017 All-Centennial Conference honorable mention and led the Shorewomen in assists (18) and ground balls (29) last season.
The Shorewomen will open their 2018 season with a 7:00 p.m. home game against Albright on Wednesday, February 28th.
