Oskam Named Full-Time Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Washington College head women's basketball coach Alisha Mosley has announced the hiring of Jaclyn Oskam as the team's full-time assistant coach. Oskam played collegiate basketball at both Division I Quinnipiac University and Division II Pace University and has experience as a skills coach and AAU coach.

"I am honored to have Jaclyn Oskam join our staff and the Shorewomen family," Mosley remarked. "Jackie brings a lot of experience, playing at both the Division I and Division II levels for amazing programs. I know she will be an excellent role model for our players on and off the court. Her basketball IQ and passion for coaching the game is what will make her an asset to our program and the Washington College family."

Oskam began her collegiate basketball playing career at Quinnipiac, but was sidelined by injury for two years in a row. During her third and final year at Quinnipiac, she was named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Academic Team.

Oskam then moved on to Pace, where she played one season as an undergraduate and two as a graduate student. She was named to the Northeast-10 Commissioners Honor Roll each season and to the Northeast-10 Winter 2016-17 Academic All-Conference Team. She made 45 starts in 82 games played at Pace, averaging 6.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. She was also a two-year team captain for the Setters.

Since 2014, Oskam has provided one-on-one training as a personal basketball trainer and skill development coach. She has also served as the head coach of the Bethlehem (N.Y.) Orange Crush AAU team and as an assistant coach for the Albany (N.Y.) Lady Stars AAU team. Her previous work experience in basketball and college athletics includes time as a counselor for the Quinnipiac Women's Basketball Camp, an administrative assistant for Adirondack Hoops (an AAU organization), a scorekeeper and admissions manager for the Empire Allstars AAU team, and as public relations intern for the College of St. Rose Athletics Department.

Oskam earned a B.A. with Distinction in Communications from Pace in 2015 and a Masters of Public Administration from Pace in 2017. She was inducted into the Pace Chapter of Pi Alpha Alpha, the national honor society for Public Affairs and Administration.
