Cywinski & Novick Named Men's Tennis Captains

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Juniors Marc Cywinski (Brisbane, Australia/Pendleton [FL]) and Joel Novick (Cape May Court House, NJ/Middle Township) will serve as captains of the Washington College men's tennis team for the 2012-13 academic year, head coach David Donn announced today. 

Cywinski was named the team's Most Improved Player for the 2011-12 season, turning in a singles record of 9-6 at No. 4 and No. 5 and finishing 7-10 in doubles, including a record of 7-7 at No. 2.  He has 11 career singles wins and 14 career doubles wins over his first two seasons.

Novick was namd a 2012 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete and landed on the 2012 Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team. He played just outside the regular line-up as a sophomore, going 2-3 in singles and 0-2 in doubles. As a freshman, he was 6-7 in singles (playing primarily at No. 5) and 1-1 in doubles. 

The Washington College men's tennis team will compete this fall at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships, which begin September 29th and conclude October 1st.  Their spring dual-match schedule starts March 2nd with a 1:00 p.m. match at Goucher.
