LANCASTER, PA -- Washington College men's tennis seniors Kevin Papen (Dover, DE/Caesar Rodney) and Aaron Ellison (Largo, FL/St. Petersburg) have been named to the All-Centennial Conference second team in a vote conducted by the conference's head coaches. Papen earned the honor for singles and joined Elllison for all-conference honors in doubles.
After two years playing at No. 2 singles for the Shoremen, Papen moved up to the No. 1 spot this season. He went 3-12 at No. 1, including a 2-6 mark in conference play. Four of his losses came in three sets or super-tiebreakers. This is the second time Papen has earned All-Conference honors in singles; he was named to the second team two years ago.
Papen and Ellison were the Shoremen's top doubles team this spring. They finished with a 7-7 mark at No. 1 doubles, including a 4-4 record in Centennial Conference matches. Papen and Ellison were named to the All-Centennial first team for double last season. Papen also earned second-team honors in doubles two years ago.
