Meir Lewin joined the Shoremen's coaching staff in June 2012 as a graduate assistant coach. Lewin spent four years playing professional soccer in Israel.
After spending the 2005-06 academic year at George Mason University playing Division I collegiate soccer, Lewin moved to Israel to play professionally for Hapoel Herzilya and pursue and undergraduate degree from Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herzliya. In four seasons, Lewin made 72 strarts in 79 games for Hapoel Herzilya, serving as a team captain, helping the club gain league promotion, and earning "Top XI" league all-star honors in 2009 and 2010.
Lewin played high school soccer at Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda, MD, where he earned All-State and All-Met honors as a junior and senior and was the captain of the 2003 Regional Championship team. He also played in the Maryland Olympic Development Program and for the Potomac Cougars and Bethesda Internationals.
Lewin's coaching experience includes coaching club teams at Montgomery Soccer Club in Rockville and working with D.C. United's "United for D.C." project teaching after school programs for underprivileged children.
Lewin earned his B.A. in Conflict Resolution from IDC Herzliya's School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy in 2010. He holds an NSCAA Level VI Diploma.
