Wild, Draper Score Goals in Loss for Shoremen
HAVERFORD, PA -- Host Haverford College defeated visiting Washington College, 4-2, this afternoon in Haverford, PA. The Fords improved to 5-4 overall and 2-1 in conference play with the win, while the Shoremen fell to 2-4 and 1-2 with the loss.
The Fords took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Colin Seitz off an assist from Brady Seitz at 15:11. Haverford held a 5-2 advantage in shots in the first half.
Brady Seitz pushed the lead to 2-0 with an unassisted goal at 52:05 and the Ford advantage grew to 3-0 on a Sam Yarosh goal off an assist from Matt Gorski at 67:59. The Shoremen got on the board at 70:38 when junior midfielder Sam Wild (Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks West) scored off an assist from junior midfielder Chris Nardo (Middlesex, NJ/Middlesex). Haverford tacked on its fifth goal at 83:17 when Gorski assisted on another Yarosh goal. Washington sophomore forward Sam Draper (Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's County) rounded out the scoring with his first career goal at the 89:00 mark.
Haverford finished with a 15-6 advantage in shots in the game. Washington had a slim 5-4 edge in corner kicks. Andriy Mshanetskyy played the first 70:26 in goal for Haverford and made one save while not allowing any goals. Senior goalkeeper Tyler Cabot (Hightstown, NJ/Peddie School) made three saves for the Shoremen.
The Shoremen return to action Saturday with a 5:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Ursinus.
