This is Our "Haas" - Shoremen Top Ursinus, 1-0

Junior Scores Game's Only Goal in 87th Minute

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Junior forward Jordan Haas (Wyomissing, PA/Wilson) scored the game's only goal in the 87th minute to give host Washington College a 1-0 Centennial Conference men's soccer victory over visiting Ursinus College this afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium.

Haas received a long pass from senior midfielder Gavin Rayburn (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll) in transition and booted the ball in from left of the goal at 86:12. Haas nearly made it 2-0 less than two minutes later, but just missed wide right on a shot at 88:06.

The Shoremen (4-10-1, 1-5-1 Centennial) held a 24-13 advantage in shots in the game, while the Bears (2-12-1, 0-7) held a slim 8-6 advantage in corner kicks. 

Junior goalkeeper Chris Phipps (Newark, DE/St. Mark's) made four saves en route to the shutout win for Washington, while Mike Alfieri made nine saves for Ursinus in the loss.

The Shoremen return to action Wednesday with a 3:30 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Haverford.
