LANCASTER, PA -- Washington College has swept the Centennial Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors for men's lacrosse for the week ending April 1st. Junior attackman Bennett Cord (Gaithersburg, MD/Gaithersburg) was named Offensive Player of the Week for the second week in a row and third time in the last four weeks, while senior goalie Peter Stewart (Annapolis, MD/St. Mary's) was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Cord tallied a career-best seven points on four goals and three assists in the Shoremen's 13-8 win at Muhlenberg Saturday. His four goals came on seven shots. Stewart made a career-best 22 saves while allowing just three goals before leaving the game with a 10-goal lead with 7:13 left in the contest.
The Shoremen have won seven straight games and have scored 10 or more goals in eight games in a row for the first time since 2002.
