BOSTON, MA -- Former Washington College All-American lacrosse player Stephen Berger '04 has been selected to play in the 2010 Major League Lacrosse (MLL) All-Star Game to be held on Thursday July 8, at Harvard Stadium in Boston, MA, at 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and will feature a 20-man MLL All-Star Team playing against the U.S. National Team.
This will be the fourth MLL All-Star Appearance for Berger, who plays midfield for the Long Island Lizards. Since being drafted with the final pick of the 2004 MLL Draft, Berger has blossomed into one of the league's top players and currently leads all Lizard midfielders with seven goals and 10 points.
One of the most outstanding players in Washington College history, Berger polished off a stellar collegiate career at Washington in 2004, scoring a school-record 94 points on 53 goals and 41 assists. He was named the 2004 Co-Midfielder of the Year for Division III. He was also named the Centennial Conference Player of the Year and the ECAC South Player of the Year for the second consecutive year, was recognized as a first team All-American for the second straight season and as an All-American for the third year in a row. Berger totaled 135 goals, 106 assists, 241 points, and 276 ground balls in four years at WC. He later served as an assistant coach at his alma mater.
