Tuesday's Men's Basketball Game to be Faculty & Staff Appreciation Game
CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Tuesday's Washington College men's basketball home game against Eastern Shore rival Salisbury University will be a Faculty & Staff Appreciation Game. Faculty and staff attending the game, which tips off at 4:00 p.m. three days after the end of final exams, will be eligible to win a invaluable prize - a day of administrative leave.
The College's President, Mitchell Reiss, has granted an early dismissal of 3:45 p.m. for faculty and staff to encourage attendance at the game. President Reiss has also offered one day of administrative leave each for five lucky faculty and staff members who attend the game. Faculty and staff will be able to enter their names into the drawing when they arrive at the game and the five winners will be randomly selected at the game's conclusion.
Winners of ten-dollar gift certificates to Barnes & Noble (courtesy of the Washington College bookstore) and to Java George will also be drawn at halftime from the raffle entries. In addition, there will be free Washington College basketball t-shirts available for the first 25 faculty and staff members to enter the raffle.
The College's Office of Human Resources has added an additional wrinkle to the game, offering an informal departmental challenge to find out which department on campus has the most school spirit as evidenced by attendance at the game and creative signs supporting the team.
Faculty and staff have also been encouraged to wear Washington College apparel or maroon and black colors on Tuesday.
