    Synapse Sports has named Washington College freshman forward Kailyn Brandt to its Division III Field Hockey All-Rookie Team. She is one of 16 freshmen nationwide named to the team and the only one from the Centennial Conference.

    Three Washington College field hockey players were garnered All-Centennial Conference honors in a vote conducted by the conference’s 11 head coaches.  Freshman forward/midfielder Kailyn Brandt was named All-Centennial Conference first team, senior defender Katie Arnold earned a spot on the All-Centennial second team, while junior midfielder Nicole Schroyer received all-conference honorable mention.

    Stephi Rydgren deflected in the game-winning goal with 2:57 remaining in the second half on a pass from Emily Davis to give host Muhlenberg a 2-1 win over visiting Washington College in a Centennial Conference field hockey game on Friday night on Frank Marino Field at Scotty Wood Stadium.  The Shorewomen will host either Haverford or Dickinson on Wednesday at a time to be determined on Monday.  Washington will host Dickinson if Haverford loses to Swarthmore tomorrow afternoon or Haverford if Haverford downs Swarthmore.

    Visiting Ursinus College scored twice in the second half to rally for a 2-1 Centennial Conference field hockey win over host Washington College this evening on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Bears locked up a first-round bye in the five-team Centennial Conference Tournament with the win, advancing directly to the semifinals. The loss, meanwhile, locks the Shorewomen into the fourth seed in the tournament and they will host the lone first-round game.

    Anne Kietzman has been hired as the fourth head coach in the history of the Washington College field hockey program, Director of Athletics Thad Moore announced today. Kietzman, a former Division III All-American and one-time interim head coach at Centennial Conference rival Dickinson, comes to Washington College from Division II Newberry (S.C), where she served as head coach and led the Wolves to their best-ever season this past fall.
