GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. — Host Gwynedd Mercy staked out a 3-1 halftime lead en route to a 4-1 non-conference field hockey win over visiting Washington College tonight in Gwynedd Valley, Pa.

How It Happened
- Erika Cimino put Gwynedd Mercy on the board with 24:51 left in the first half.
- The Shorewomen evened the score 1:44 later on a goal by Alison Pantazes.
- The Grffins took the lead when Melissa Russo deflected in a ball sent by Shannon Carroll with 4:12 to go before halftime.
- The lead extended to 3-1 before halftime as Michaela Swenk scored off an assist from Maggie Walsh during a penalty corner with 1:19 on the clock.
- Russo scored her second goal of the game on a breakaway off a Carroll assist as Gwynedd Mercy built their final three-goal cushion at 4-1 with 27:03 to go.
