• Cory Beddick Named Head Baseball Coach

    Washington College Director of Athletics Thad Moore has announced the hiring of Cory Beddick as the College’s new head baseball coach. Beddick, a graduate of fellow Centennial Conference school Gettysburg College, comes to Chestertown from Hood College, where he served as that institution’s first-ever head baseball coach and was named the 2016 MAC Commonwealth Coach of the Year.

On the field, four players earned All-Centennial Conference honors in a vote by the coaches. Normoyle and junior outfielder Sean Connole were named to the first team, while senior pitcher Shane Mattingly and senior catcher John Rolewicz earned spots on the second team.

The Shoremen, the tournament’s third seed, eliminated fourth seed McDaniel, 6-0, in the first game of the day in the morning and rallied from 6-1 down to knock out top seed and host Johns Hopkins, 10-6, in the afternoon.
