CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Washington College head baseball coach Matt Reynolds has announced the hiring of Pat Lemmo as the team's new pitching coach. Lemmo was an All-American pitcher in his collegiate playing days at Ithaca College and went on to pitch professionally in independent leagues.
As a senior at Ithaca, Lemmo was named a 2013 first-team All-American by both the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and D3Baseball.com. He was also named the Empire 8 Conference Pitcher of the Year and a first-team Empire 8 All-Star for the second year in a row that season. He went 12-2 with a 1.76 ERA and five complete games as a senior. He also struck out 71 batters while walking only 18. He helped lead the Bombers to back-to-back Empire 8 Championships and NCAA Tournament berths.
Lemmo went on to pitch for the Alpine Cowboys of the Pecos Professional Baseball League and the Sonoma Stompers of the Pacific Association of Professional Baseball. He was named a Pecos League All-Star. He has also coached youth baseball at both Ithaca College and for the CNY Baseball Warehouse.
Lemmo received a B.S. in Exercise Science from Ithaca in May 2013.
