Normoyle's play for the Elmira Pioneers in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League - a wood-bat summer league for collegiate players featuring mostly Division I student-athletes - during the summer of 2011 got him on the radar of professional baseball scouts. The Invaders are one of 10 teams in the Pecos League, an independent minor league. They will open their 2013 season May 17th against the Las Vegas Train Robbers.
