Connole's Wyoming Summer
Senior outfielder Sean Connole of the Washington College baseball team spent his summer in Wyoming, playing summer league baseball and landing an internship. He reflects on the experience below.
This summer, I traveled out West to Cheyenne, Wyoming, to play baseball in the Mountain Collegiate League for the Cheyenne Grizzlies. Also during the summer season, I was fortunate enough to land a sports psychology internship with the American Board Of Sports Psychology. All in all, the summer was very productive and adventurous. I played some of the most challenging and competitive baseball in my career, gained valuable career experience through my internship, and, thanks to the massive Cheyenne Frontier Days, I can now say that my next rodeo isn't my first. If I'm going to be honest, I faced a lot of adversity out West, such as being injured for half the season after the first team practice, but it was not difficult to soak in the beauty of the rolling plains and welcoming culture. Cheyenne was a great little city with interesting traditiosn and history. I'm glad to say that I was able to see another part of the country and sign autographs while playing the sport I so deeply enjoy.
