2008 LANCASTER, PA - Six Washington College student-athletes have been named to the All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team for spring sports. Each Centennial Conference member institution was permitted to nominate one student from each winter program who exemplifies the best in sportsmanship. Nominations were submitted by the athletic departments or head coaches. This is the first year of the All-Centennial Sportsmanship team, which was proposed by the conference's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Senior James Tidwell (Newark, DE/Charter School of Wilmington) represented Washington's baseball team, while senior Tricia Carroll (Owings Mills, MD/Owings Mills) represented the softball team. Seniors Megan Rainey (Severna Park, MD/Archbishop Spalding) and Tim Prudente (Hereford, MD/Hereford) represented the women's and men's lacrosse teams, respectively, while freshmen Jon Keller (Frederick, MD/Frederick) and Kristine Depew (Downingtown, PA/Westtown School) represented the men's and women's tennis teams, respectively. This is the second time this year that Rainey has earned an All-Centennial Sportsmanship honor, as she also represented the field hockey team in the fall. Tidwell, Rainey, and Carroll all served as captains of their respective teams this season. Carroll was also named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll. |
