Shoremen Trump Mules, 7-2
Cranford Posts 6-0, 6-0, Win at No. 1 singles

ALLENTOWN, PA -- Visiting Washington College won two doubles matches and five singles matches en route to a 7-2 Centennial Conference men's tennis victory over host Muhlenberg College this afternoon in Allentown, PA. The Shoremen improved to 8-5 overall and 3-2 in conference play with the win, while the Mules fell to 3-5 and 1-4 with the loss.

In doubles, sophomore Adam Cranford (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll) and senior Michal Switala (Redlo, Poland/Gunston Day School, MD) were 8-1 winners against Brian Wernick and Yoni Farber at No. 2, while senior Todd Green (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood) and senior Brian Danver (Bethany Beach, DE/St. Albans, DC) bested Wayne Mitchel and Matt Kral, 8-3, at No. 3. Muhlenberg picked up a point at No. 1 as Zach Adler and Jordan Rutt downed sophomore Andrew Laux (Mt. Sinai, NY/Mt. Sinai) and freshman Brian Cedrowski (Cedar Grove, NJ/Montclair-Kimberley Academy), 8-5.

Cranford remained unbeaten in Centennial Conference singles matches with a 6-0, 6-0, blanking over John Osborne at No. 1. The Mules picked up a win at No. 2 as Adler beat freshman Aaron Ellison (Largo, FL/St. Petersburg), 7-5, 6-3. Green defeated Wernick, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 3, Switala downed Farber, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 4, Danver beat Rutt, 7-5, 6-4, at No. 5, and freshman Kyle Lisco (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) defeated Mitchel, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 6.

The Shoremen return to action Wednesday with a 3:30 p.m. Centennial Conference match at Ursinus.
