2009 DOVER, DE -- Host Wesley College scored a pair of first-half goals to post a 2-0 non-conference win over visiting Washington College tonight at Scott D. Miller Stadium in Dover, DE. The Wolverines improved to 8-5 with the win, while the Shoremen slipped to 2-11 with the loss. Wesley got on the board at 12:23 when Frank Buffa sent a cross to a cutting Omega Dabale, who fired the ball in for a 1-0 lead. The Wolverines pushed ahead, 2-0, when Ryan Fish scored off a corner kick pass from Luis Rivera at 19:12. Nick Talarico made seven saves in the win for Wesley, while sophomore goalkeeper Chris Phipps (Newark, DE/St. Mark's) made 13 stops in the loss for the Shoremen. Freshman Justin Geho (Westminster, MD/Cardinal Gibbons) took a team-high six shots for Washington. Wesley held a 29-13 advantage in shots and a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks in the game. The Shoremen return to action Friday with a 7:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Gettysburg.
