2009 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting Muhlenberg College downed host Washington College, 4-0, in a Centennial Conference men's soccer game this afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Mules improved to 8-3 overall and 4-1 in conference play with the win, while the Shoremen fell to 2-10 and 0-5. Muhlenberg got on the board at 31:50 when Adison Weseloh scored off a pass ahead from Mike Gehrmann. Samuel Hayden made it 2-0 when he booted in a loose ball right in front of the goal at 40:56. Cody Antonini pushed the margin to 3-0 when he scored on a long shot at 45:26. The Mules tacked on their fourth goal with 33 seconds left in the game when Danny Way scored following a direct kick off an assist from Nate Squire. Jason Daniels made two saves for the Mules in 85:37 before being relieved by Matt Kops. Sophomore goalkeeper Chris Phipps (Newark, DE/St. Mark's) made eight saves and allowed three goals in 81:52 of playing time for the Shoremen. Freshman goalkeeper Tyler Cabot (Hightstown, NJ/Peddie School) played the rest of the way, giving up the final goal. Muhlenberg held a 21-3 advantage in shots and a 6-1 edge in corner kicks. The Shoremen return to action Tuesday with a 7:00 p.m. non-conference game at Wesley.
