2008 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting Gettysburg College scored the only goal of the game in the 14th minute of a 1-0 Centennial Conference men's soccer victory over host Washington College tonight in on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. Gettysburg scored at 13:44 when Kyle DeBlois scored off a pass in front of the goal from Eric Hynes to make it 1-0. The Bullets held a 14-4 advantage in the second half. The Shoremen's offense produced 10 shots in the second half to Gettysburg's eight, but could not find the back of the net. Gettysburg goalkeeper Jeff Greenlaw saved a shot by WC senior midfielder Brian Danver (Bethany Beach, DE/St. Albans, DC) at 88:29 to stop the Shoremen's final scoring chance. Greenlaw had seven saves in the the win for the Bullets, while sophomore goalkeeper James Bedrock (Waldwick, NJ/Waldwick) made eight saves for the Shoremen. Gettysburg held a 7-6 edge in corner kicks in the game. The Shoremen return to action one week from tomorrow with their home finale - a 3:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game against Ursinus.
