Shoremen's Lightweight Four Wins Race
at Philadelphia Frostbite Regatta

PHILADELPHIA, PA -- The Washington College men's rowing team finished its fall season today at the Philadelphia Frostbite Regatta on the Schuylkill River. The Shoremen finished first of five boats in their race in the college men's lightweight four. Washington was also third of six boats in the Shoremen's race in the college men's frosh/novice eight and fourth of six boats in their race in the college men's varsity eight.

Washington's lightweight four finished the 2000-meter course in 7:01.06. Loyola was second in the race in 7:29.96. Senior Ashleigh Genevich (Avon Grove, PA/Avon Grove) served as coxswain of the Shoremen's boat in the college men's lightweight four. Sophomore Brian Gamble (Gibson Island, MD/Holderness School, NH) sat stroke, senior Hugh McAdam (Hollis, NH/Worcester Academy) was in the three seat, sophomore R. Scott Jones (Maple Glen, PA/La Salle College HS) sat in the two seat, and junior Matt Icenroad (Sykesville, MD/Century) was the bow.

The Shoremen's frosh/novice eight completed the course in 7:01.77. Colgate won the race in 6:34.54, while Rochester "A" was second in 6:48.81.

Washington's varsity eight finished the course in 6:42.72. Binghamton won the race in 6:18.41, LaSalle was second in 6:25.15, and Drexel "B" was third in 6:38.34. Sophomore Springer Harris (Huntingtown, MD/Northern) was the coxswain of the Shoremen's boat in the college men's varsity eight. Junior Derek Trott (Huntingtown, MD/Northern) sat stroke, sophomore Ken Searles (Towson, MD/Towson) was in the seven seat, sophomore Andrew Newell (Bethesda, MD/Bethesda-Chevy Chase) sat in the six seat, sophomore Tommy Price (Pasadena, MD/Severn School) was in the five seat, sophomore Kevin Rodriguez (Fort Collins, CO/Fort Collins) sat in the four seat, freshman Jake Ludemann (Wilton, CT/St. Luke's) was in the three seat, sophomore Keenan Wheeler (Towson, MD/Loyola Blakefield) was in the two seat, and sophomore Dan Pierce (Norwalk, CT/Norwalk) was the bow.
