2008 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Washington College senior attackman Chris Read (Baltimore, MD/Boys Latin) has been selected to play for the South team in the prestigious United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division III North-South Senior All-Star Game Friday, May 23rd, at Harvard Stadium in Boston, MA. Washington senior midfielder Nick Gregory (Riva, MD/South River) has been tabbed as an alternate selection to play for the South team. Read is a three-time All-Centennial Conference first team selection. He is also a two-time All-American and is likely to receive that honor a third time when this year's All-America teams are announced. The leading point-getter in the Centennial Conference this season, Read finished his career with 158 goals and 70 assists in 68 career games at Washington College. He also tallied 120 ground balls. Over the past two decades, no Washington player has scored more career goals than Read and only one Shoreman has totaled more points. Gregory put together an outstanding senior season, earning All-Centennial Conference second team honors. Having tallied one goal and one assist in 18 games during his first three years, Gregory erupted for 25 goals and 11 assists this season. He finished fourth on the team in goals, assists, and points and was the team's top-scoring midfielder. The start time for the USILA Division III North-South Senior All-Star game is 2:00 p.m. |
