Red Devils Bounce Shoremen, 75-60
Kines Scores Career-High 15 Points for WC

CHESTERTOWN, MD – Tom Leszczynski recorded a double-double with game-highs of 19 points and 13 rebounds as Dickinson downed host Washington College, 75-60, on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference men's basketball action at the Cain Athletic Center. The Red Devils improve to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the Centennial, while the Shoremen fall to 2-4 and 0-2 respectively.

Washington led 26-22 with 5:45 remaining in the opening half, before Dickinson went on a 16-3 run to take a 38-29 lead with 1:22 left in the first half. The run was capped on a layup by Cory Kenny. The Shoremen however, closed out the final 82 seconds scoring six of the last eight points to trim the deficit to 40-35 at halftime.

The Red Devils scored the first six points of the second half to take a 46-35 lead with 17:54 remaining in the tilt. Washington answered with a 10-4 run to cut it to 50-45 with 13:31 left, but that is as close as the Shoremen would come in the second half. Dickinson would salt away the win with a 25-15 run over the final 13:31.

Mike Geosits and Kizmahr Grell each added 15 points in the victory for Dickinson, who won in Chestertown for the first time since the 2000-01 season.

For Washington, sophomore forward Alan Kines (Towson, MD/Towson) scored a career-high 15 points to lead the Shoremen, on 5-for-7 shooting from the floor and 5-for-6 from the free throw line. Junior guard Tim Kohlrus (Fairfax, VA/W.T. Woodson) added 11 points, while sophomore guard/forward Andrew Chambers (Hagerstown, MD/St. Maria Goretti) chipped in with 10 points.

Dickinson shot 54% from the field in the victory, while Washington shot just 30%. The Red Devils controlled the boards by a 43-31 margin. Dickinson had 20 turnovers in the contest, to just nine for the Shoremen..

The Shoremen return to action Wednesday with a 7:30 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Haverford.
