
CHESTERTOWN, Md. -- Nancy Marsey, who served as an equipment manager at Washington College from 1989 until 2001, has passed away. Full her obituary appears below:
"Nancy Brittingham Marsey of Chestertown, MD died on
Thursday, June 26, 2014 at her home. She was 86.
Born on March 10, 1928 in Wilmington, DE, she was the
daughter of the late Sylvester and Elm Brittingham.
In 1947, she married William Marsey, Jr., who predeceased her
in 2010. They lived in Yorklyn , DE where she was active in the
Hockessin Methodist Church and a florist for Walker’s
greenhouses. Later, they moved permanently to their summer home in
Tolchester, MD where she was an active member of the Frank M.
Jarman American Legion Auxiliary, then the Sgt. Preston Ashley
American Legion Auxiliary, Post 228. Mrs. Marsey worked for years
with the Washington College Athletic Department.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a
daughter, Patricia McMahon in 2009, seven siblings, a niece and two
nephews.
Mrs. Marsey is survived by a daughter, Jeannine Marsey and
her husband Carlo Fernandes of Rock Hall, MD, a brother, Paul and
wife Wilma, two sister-in-laws, four grandchildren, Darek McMahon
and Carlo Fernandes, Jr. and Maurice and Matthew Christion, several
great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 1:00
pm at the Rock Hall Volunteer Fire
Co.
