Nine to Enter WC Hall of Fame in October

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Washington College will welcome nine new members to its Athletic Hall of Fame October 13th during an annual ceremony and dinner. The 1997 men's tennis team will also be honored at the event. A brief look at the inductees and honored team follows.
Greg Adams '01
Greg Adams is the second-leading scorer in Washington College
men's basketball history with 1,793 career points. He also holds
the school record for free throws made in a career (507) and shares
the school record for free throws made in a game (19). He earned
All-Centennial Conference honors three times, twice landing on the
first team. His career scoring average of 17.6 points per game is
fourth-best in Centennial Conference history.
Christyl Arrabal '00
Christyl Arrabal played eight seasons across three different
sports and earned All-Centennial Conference honors in all eight of
those seasons. She was a four-time All-Centennial Conference
selection in field hockey, a three-time selection in lacrosse, and
a one-time choice in softball. She was also a Regional All-American
in field hockey and holds the school field hockey record for career
assists with 29. She is second all-time in Shorewomen field hockey
in career goals (45) and points (119). The eight teams she played
on posted a combined won-loss record of 108-47-1.
Tomas Lejarraga '99
Tomas Lejarraga was the 1999 Centennial Conference Player of the
Year for men's tennis and was a 1999 All-American in both singles
and doubles. A two-time All-Centennial Conference first-team
selection in both singles and doubles, Lejarraga was also a 1998
Rolex Regional Champion in both singles and doubles. With
Tomas on the team, the Shoremen won the 1997 NCAA Division III
National Championship and four Centennial Conference
Championships.
Justin McCarthy '99
Justin McCarthy was a three-time All-America second-team selection
and a three-time All-Centennial Conference first-team selection as
a lacrosse midfielder. He played in three NCAA Division III
National Championship Games and helped the Shoremen win the 1998
NCAA Division III National Championship and the 1996 and 1997
Centennial Conference Championships. Over his four-year career, the
Shoremen went 53-16. He finished his career with 72 goals and 75
assists.
Scott McGilvray '00
Scott McGilvray was an exceptional defenseman on the standout
men's lacrosse teams of the late 1990s. He was named an
All-American three times, landing on the second team twice, and
received All-Centennial Conference recognition three times, earning
a spot on the first team as a senior. He played in three NCAA
Division III National Championship Games and helped the Shoremen
win the 1998 NCAA Division III National Championship and the 1996
and 1997 Centennial Conference
Championships.
Jason Paige '95
One of the most prolific scorers in Washington College
men's lacrosse history, Jason Paige totaled 151 goals and 58
assists in just three seasons with the Shoremen. His 64 goals in
1994 tied the single-season school record and stood for 10 years.
He earned All-America honors all three seasons, landing on the
first team as a senior, and earned all-conference honors twice. He
played in two NCAA Division III Tournaments with the Shoremen as
the team went 32-13 with him on the roster.
John Wagner '74
John Wagner has been associated with the Washington
College Waterfront for four decades. A coxswain for the men's
rowing team as a student, Wagner later served as a rowing coach and
has served as the Waterfront Director for many years. He helped
move the sailing program from club to varsity status, has raised
funds for boats and countless other items, and planned numerous
community and campus events at the waterfront. He received a
Distinguished Service Award from the College in 2011.
Toby Wilmet '01
A two-sport athlete, Toby Wilmet has a firm grasp on the
title of "greatest goalkeeper in Washington College field hockey
history." She was named the NCAA's Woman of the Year for the State
of Maryland in 2001 and went on to be one of the finalists for the
national award. She was a first-team All-American in 1999, a
three-time All-Region selection, and a four-time All-Centennial
Conference honoree. Over her four years, the field hockey team went
53-21. Her 22 career shutouts stand as the school record. In
softball, she earned All-Centennial Conference honorable mention as
a senior.
Louis Young '73
Louis Young is the men's basketball program's all-time
leading rebounder with 1,133 during his collegiate career. He is
also 30th in team history in career points with 1,039. An
All-Conference and All-State selection during his career, Young
averaged an extraordinary 17.1 rebounds per game during the 1970-71
season, pulling down a single-game school-record 27 in a win over
Western Maryland.

The 1997 Washington College men's tennis team was one of
the most dominant Division III tennis teams of all time. Finishing
with a record of 20-1 (their only loss coming to Division II
powerhouse Bloomsburg), the Shoremen outscored their 15 Division
III opponents on the year by a combined 95-10 en route to winning
their second NCAA Division III National Championship in four
years.
